Edward B. (Ned) Reinhardt was called to life everlastin­g on January 22, 2017. Born on August 15, 1926 in Ishpeming, MI, to Frederick and Bernadette Butler Reinhardt, Ned is survived by his son, Ed Reinhardt, Jr. and daughter, Mary Reinhardt, both of Albuquerqu­e, NM, and son, Colonel Peter, USAF, and daughter-in-law, Trina Reinhardt of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by grandchild­ren, Marc Reinhardt of San Antonio, TX, and Charlene Reinhardt of Santa Barbara, CA. Ned leaves many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Irene, and his sisters, Elizabeth Ann Yaussy and Mary Jane Hall.

Ned served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He studied at Northern Michigan University and completed a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Forestry at Washington State University. Ned worked in Arizona and New Mexico as a forester with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and became the Albuquerqu­e area forester. In the 1970s, his work in correcting a surveying error enabled the Taos Pueblo to regain land around Bear Lake. He earned a 3rd degree black belt in the Kojasho form of Karate. Upon retirement, Ned and Irene camped across the US and Canada. In 2010, he became an Associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston. Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2017, 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Rosary recitation will follow at 5:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave NE.
