Help with Parkinson’s aim of meetings
The New Mexico Parkinson’s Coalition will sponsor two free presentations on Saturday, Feb. 18, in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho by
Matt Wolff, a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in Parkinson’s disease, to help people understand the disease and find resources.
The presentations will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 1101 Golf Course SE in Rio Rancho, and at 1 p.m. at Highland Senior Center, 131 Monroe NE in Albuquerque.

Alzheimer’s support presentation offered
The Alzheimer’s Association, New Mexico chapter, will offer a free presentation for people caring for someone with Alzheimer’s from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday at the association’s office, 9500 Montgomery NE, suite 121.
Barbara Michels, author of “The Alzheimer’s Journey: A Practical Perspective for Caregivers,” will discuss the importance of support groups for families and caregivers dealing with Alzheimer’s. For more information, call Chris McCaffrey at 266-4473 or email cmccaffrey@alz.org.
Osteoporosis and exercise series set
“Osteoporosis: What You Need to Know About Safe Exercise and Body Mechanics” is beginning Feb. 2 at Fifty ‘n Fit.
The four-part series is for anyone with osteoporosis or osteopenia desiring to know more about appropriate exercise, safe lifting, safe movement and smart body mechanics.
Taught by a licensed physical therapist. Fee is $70.00 for five hours of instruction over four weeks.

Compression-only CPR class offered
Project Heart Start, a free class on compression-only CPR for reviving heart-attack victims, will be offered at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the New Heart Center for Wellness, 601 Lomas NE.
