Gilbert A. Jaramillo was born on October 16, 1930, in Vallecitos, New Mexico. He passed away on January 28, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife, Grace Jaramillo.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Ramona Ruybalid, Antonio Maestas, Navor Maestas, Julia Martinez; and her husband, Raymond.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Garde; and her husband, Tom; son, Steve Jaramillo; and his wife, Tanya; and son, Vincent Jaramillo; and his wife, Anna. He is also survived by his siblings, Abran Maestas; and his wife, Ida; Eraldo Maestas, Joe Maestas, Esperanza Maestas, Ramos Jaramillo; and his wife, Marlene. As well as, Grace’s children, Stephen Anderson, Karen Anderson, Linda; and husband Dennis Alsofrom, Suzie, and husband, Sam Wood. He has seven grandchild­ren, Gabriel, Marlise, Damian, Jonah, Elijah, Angelina and Sophia; and two great-grandchild­ren, Elise, and Noel.

Gilbert served in the US Army during the Korean War. He graduated from El Rito Normal School, Adams State University and retired as a civil servant. He worked for 34 years at Kirtland Air Force Base as an Air Force Weapons Laboratory – Budget Division Analyst. After retirement, he enjoyed substitute teaching with elementary school children. He was a former Boy Scout leader, and both he and Grace were avid Lobo football and basketball fans. Gil loved music and enjoyed singing whenever he had the opportunit­y. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends may visit Friday, February 3, 2017, 6:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service following, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH-Lomas. Mass of the Christian burial will be Saturday, February 4, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciati­on, 2532 Vermont NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM with Visitation starting half hour prior.
