Olan Edward Thomas passed away Saturday, February 12, 2017. He was born in Wellington, TX on the

10th day of September in 1923, to William Ewin Thomas and Beulah Morrison. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and his two brothers; Weldon Bassett Thomas and Melvin Keith Thomas. Olan is survived by his son Olan Dale Thomas, Daughter; Margayla Thomas Cate, Grandsons; Creed Thomas Cate and Laramy Johnson Cate, Great Grandchild­ren; Lorna Louise Cate, Claudia Jerrine Cate, Zada Noel Cate and Nephew; Guy Todd Clement. Olan attended Tarrelton College, and then became a member of the Army, bravely serving in World War II. He married his beloved wife, Claudine W. Sparlin on November 21, 1924 in Wellington TX, and was married for 73 years. Olan worked for Los Alamos Laboratori­es for 32 years retiring in 1987. Claudine worked for the Los Alamos Monitor for twenty years also retiring in 1987.

He loved working with wood, repairing and re-finishing furniture was a true passion of his. He attended Hoffman town Baptist Church in Albuquerqu­e.
