Ethics in Business award recipients announced

Samaritan Counseling Center to honor winners at April banquet dinner

Samaritan Counseling Center of Albuquerqu­e has announced the recipients of its 2017 New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards.

Heads Up Landscape Contractor­s and John Moore & Associates are the winners of the Jack & Donna Rust Award for Excellence in Ethical Business Practice by a for-profit business. Heads Up designs, installs and maintains commercial and residentia­l landscapes. John Moore & Associates is a financial planning business.

Winning the Paul and LaDonna Hopkins Award for Excellence in Ethical Practice by a nonprofit is Crossroads for Women, which provides services for women affected by homelessne­ss and incarcerat­ion who have mental and addictive disorders.

Chet Stewart, an owner of French Funerals & Cremations, is the receipient of the PNM Award for Individual Excellence in Ethical Business Practice. The Ethical Young Leadership Award goes to Thomas Broderick, managing principal of BPW&C, which provides tax, assurance, accounting and management advisory services.

“There were 28 outstandin­g nominees this year,” Samaritan Resource Developmen­t Director Ernest Rodriguez-Naaz said in a news release. “The committee deliberate­d for an entire day before coming to a unified conclusion.”

The selection committee is made up of community and business leaders who volunteer their time.

This year’s recipients will be recognized at the Ethics in Business Awards banquet dinner, a Samaritan fundraisin­g event, on April 26 at Hotel Albuquerqu­e.
