Martinez in D.C., will meet Trump

SANTA FE — Gov. Susana Martinez traveled to Washington, D.C., on Thursday to attend meetings with federal officials and other governors.

While in the nation’s capital, Martinez will attend gatherings of both the Republican Governors Association and the National Governors Association. As part of the NGA meeting, Martinez is expected to be part of a group of governors meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House.

Martinez is also scheduled to meet with U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, according to the Governor’s Office.

The governor is scheduled to return to New Mexico on Monday, a spokesman said. The RGA will cover her travel expenses.
