TIGERS COACH IN THE
RUNNING: National recognition is coming to Bruce Gomez, Taos High School’s long-time crosscountry coach. The Tigers guru is one of eight cross-country coaches vying for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association national coach of the year award. The announcement will come June 21 at the organization’s annual awards banquet. Gomez has led the Tigers to six state championships, including the girls to the top rung of the 2016 meet.

STATE CHAMPS: Capital took the 5A runner-up trophy in last weekend’s state championship meet and Robertson finished third.
