Freddie R. Martinez, age 82, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. He was born in Sabino, NM on February 22, 1934 to his parents Nicholas and Ernestina Martinez. He was married to Cleo Martinez. Freddie lived in Albuquerque, NM, and was cared for by his daughter, Jane Garcia. Freddie will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He has 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a dedicated Eucharistic minister in Roy, NM.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Cleo Martinez; son Jerry Martinez; daughter Cleo A. Valencia; parents Nicholas and Ernestina Martinez.

Freddie is survived by his daughters: Lynda Anne Perez and husband Rey of Bernalillo, NM; LuLu Perez and husband Kenny of Bernalillo, NM; Jane Garcia of Albuquerque, NM.

A Rosary will be recited Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows in Bernalillo, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Anne Parish Hall, 511 Alicia St, Santa Fe, NM. Following the mass, Freddie will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Pallbearers will be: Freddie Garcia, Nicholas Garcia, Jeremy Garcia, Reynaldo Perez, Camille Perez, and Kenneth Perez. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Freddie’s 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Reception will follow the burial.
