Washington’s Plum sets scoring mark

UConn streak at 103; Aggies get past Seattle

SEATTLE — Kelsey Plum surpassed Jackie Stiles to become the NCAA’s all-time scoring leader with a career-best 57 points in the final regular-season game of her career, leading No. 11 Washington (27-4, 15-3 Pac-12) past Utah (16-13, 5-13) 84-77 on Saturday.

Plum hit 19 of 28 shots and was 13-for-16 at the free throw line, surpassing Stiles’ mark of 3,393 points, set at Missouri State, midway through the fourth quarter. Plum tied the mark with a hesitation drive and scoop over the outstretch­ed arm of Utah center Emily Potter with 4:57 left in the game.

After a Utah basket and a timeout, Plum hit a runner from just outside the lane with 4:06 remaining to move past Stiles on the all-time list. Plum now has 3,397 career points.

(1) UCONN 91, MEMPHIS 48: In Storrs, Conn., Katie Lou Samuelson scored 29 points in leading UConn past Memphis to extend the Huskies’ record winning streak to 103 games.

Nepheesa Collier added 19 points for UConn (28-0, 15-0 AAC). Brea Elmore had 19 for Memphis (13-15, 6-9).

(4) BAYLOR 88, TEXAS TECH 48: In Waco, Texas, Nina Davis scored 16 points and coach Kim Mulkey reached her 500th career win as Baylor claimed its seventh straight Big 12 regular-season title.

The Lady Bears’ victory gave them the outright championsh­ip with one game remaining.

Baylor (27-2, 16-1) led 28-11 in the first quarter. Larryn Brooks led Texas Tech (12-16, 4-13) with 15 points.

(16) OKLAHOMA 73, TCU 64: In Fort Worth, Vionise Pierre-Louis scored 18 points as Oklahoma defeated TCU.

Pierre-Louis had 16 of her points in the second half for the Sooners (22-7, 13-4 Big 12). AJ Alix added 17 points for the Horned Frogs (12-16, 4-13).

(23) TEMPLE 88, CINCINNATI 64: In Philadelph­ia, Tanaya Atkinson scored a career-high 30 points on 12-of18 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Temple (22-6, 12-3 AAC) over Cincinnati (16-12, 7-8).

COLORADO STATE 80, SAN DIEGO STATE 46: In San Diego, Elin Gustavsson scored 20 points as the Rams (226, 14-2) clinched outright their fourth consecutiv­e regular-season title.

AIR FORCE 64, UTAH STATE 61: At Air Force Academy, Colo., Kailin Davis scored 15 points and hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 3 seconds left, lifting the Falcons (4-22, 2-14). Antoina Robinson hit all eight of her field-goal tries and led Utah State (15-13, 8-9) with 17 points.

BOISE STATE 69, SAN JOSE STATE 61: In San Jose, Calif., Shalen Shaw had a team-high 26 points as the Broncos (20-7, 10-6) beat the host Spartans (10-18, 7-9), who were led by 27 points by Dezz Ramos.

UNLV 64, NEVADA 49: In Reno, Nev., Dakota Gonzalez and Brooke Johnson scored 16 points apiece to leave UNLV (20-8, 11-5) over Nevada (10-17, 4-12).

State

NEW MEXICO STATE 64, SEATTLE 61: In Seattle, the Aggies’ Zaire Williams had a season-high 19 points, followed by Moriah Mack with 16, Tamera William had 12 and Gia Pack 10 as NMSU beat Seattle (12-16, 9-4).

The victory was the 14th straight for the Aggies (21-6, 13-0 WAC), which wraps up its regular season next Saturday at UT Rio Grande Valley.

TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE 85, EASTERN NM 71: In Portales, the host Greyhounds (20-7, 16-4 Lone Star) lost their regular-season finale to Kingsville (13-13, 8-12) and dropped into a tie with Angelo State for the league title.

Eastern’s Jasmine Hotchkins had a team-high 16 points, but was only 5-for-17 from the field.

ANGELO STATE 93, WESTERN NM 80: In Silver City, the Mustangs (5-22, 1-19 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) got 27 points from Jordan Gutierrez on 10-for-26 in a regular-seasonendi­ng loss to ASU (22-4, 16-4).

WESTERN STATE 64, NM HIGHLANDS 32: In Gunnison, Colo., the visiting Cowgirls (2-23, 1-21 RMAC) ended their regular season with a loss to Western State (7-19, 6-16).
