Mary C. Barreras, age 91, born in, Los Chavez, New Mexico, and resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, with her family by her side.

Mrs. Barreras is survived by her children, Betty Sanchez, Richard Barreras and wife, Laura, Darlene Vallejos and husband, Ernie; sister, Ermelina Ortega and husband, Alex; grandchildren, Nancy Vigil-Cottrell and husband, Joe, James Vigil and wife, Louisa, Valerie Perea and husband, Henry, Jacob Vallejos and wife, Nicole, Matthew Vallejos and wife, Jourdan; great- grandchildren, Cortine DeLeon and husband, Jonathan, David Vigil, Mariah Vigil and fiancee, Ben, Ray Evans and fiance, Brittany, Aaron Evans, Grace Perea, Isabella Vallejos, Marcus Vallejos; great-great-grandchildren, Isaac, Charlee, Christian, Miguel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Barreras was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jake Barreras; parents Saturnino and Loretta Chavez; son in law, Raymond Sanchez; grandchildren, Theresa Vigil and Noah Chavez; sisters, Lita Gabaldon, Paulita Benavidez, Agapita Zamora; brother, Saturnino Chavez Jr.; sisters in law, Concha Chavez, Emma Mora and husband Andy.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW; with a Rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Vigil, Jacob Vallejos, Matthew Vallejos, Ray Evans, Aaron Evans, Dennis S-Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Ortega, Robert Zamora, Jerry Vigil, Ted Salas, and David Benavidez.
