Voida, Laura Caroline Stadler

Laura Caroline Stadler Voida, at the age of 95, was called home by her Lord on February 27, 2017, surrounded by the love of all her family. Laura was born on August 4, 1921 in Indianapol­is, IN to George Frederick and Ruth Read Stadler. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George, who she married on January 14, 1944 in Norfolk, VA, while George was an officer in the Navy. She and George had five children; George A. Voida married to Sharon; Vicki Bannerman married to John; Nancy Marberry married to David; Greg Voida married to Mia; and Carol Kistner married to Mark. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Weber of El Cajon, CA. She also leaves her grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren: Stephen, Amy, Natalie Laura, and Baby Girl Voida; Rachel, Mike, and Danika Warren; Marissa Bannerman; Ian, Kim, Bonnie, and Maggie Bannerman; Sarah, Julian, Claire, and Bradley Ramos; Emily Marberry; Greg, Elizabeth, Julianne, and Andrew Jay Marberry. She was also loved by Nick Morse; Char’let, Mateo, and Jaxson Garcia; Ana Kistner and Michael James Lucero; and Mark Kistner Jr.

Laura and George moved with their children to Albuquerqu­e, NM in 1955. She was a devoted homemaker, involved in the Montezuma ES P.T.A, in each of her children’s classrooms, and as a scout leader. She was an active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church, especially enjoying the sewing group. She was a founding member of Chapter AH, PEO, a women’s organizati­on dedicated to providing higher education for women. She served this chapter as president and in many other capacities. Laura ultimately became President of the NM State Chapter of PEO. She also enjoyed many years of membership in Cosmopolit­an Women’s Club, which included volunteeri­ng at the UNM Hospital gift shop. Laura’s other passions were baking and playing bridge. Her wonderful Midwestern sayings and her great pastries and cookies will be missed but never forgotten by her family and friends. Dad, we took good care of her for you. Have a happy reunion!

Laura’s Memorial Service will be Friday, March 3, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NE.
