Norma E. "Normie" Grover, age 95,passed away at her home in Albuquerqu­e, NM on Tuesday, February 28,

2017. Norma was born in Cheshire, Ohio. She graduated from Cheshire High School in 1938. Norma, the cheerleade­r married her high school sweetheart, Bob Grover the football player in 1943 at Middleport, Ohio. He was drafted into the army and drove a tank in combat in the 12th Armored Division during World War II. After the war, Norma worked while Bob attended Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineerin­g. They moved to Albuquerqu­e in 1956, when Bob began working at Sandia Labs. Norma worked as a typist (83 words per minute) at the Adjutant General Depot in Columbus, Ohio during World War II. After the war, she worked at American Education Press (Weekly Reader), until the birth of her first child. Then, she became a full-time, stay-at-home Mom. Norma enjoyed traveling, backpackin­g and camping, bowling, singing in choruses, working on political campaigns and at the polls on election days and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Sanata Women’s Club through the Coronado Club at Sandia Labs and attended activities at the Bear Canyon Senior Center.

Norma was very loving and loved. She will always be remembered for her sweet dispositio­n and kind, generous ways.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Robert Grover; her son, Geoffrey Grover; her two sisters, Elizabeth Roush and Georgia Kahrmann. Norma is survived by her daughter, Marsha Grover; Bob Kelly, who was like a son; brother-in-law, Bub Rupe (Carol), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on, Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 am also at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel.

A Reception will follow the service in the Wyoming Sunroom Reception Center.

Interment will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:00 am, at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE, Albuquerqu­e.
