Glenn, Devin Krueger

-

A son is never supposed to die before his parents, but DEVIN GABRIEL KRUEGER GLENN was never one to follow rules. That’s how Devin lived -free-spirited, fiercely and stubbornly, not just pushing the envelope but tearing it to pieces and tossing it in the air like so much confetti. That’s also how Devin died March 8, 2017, two weeks shy of his 24th birthday, his belief in his invincibility taking him too close to the sun and too deep into danger.

Devin showed his independent streak from the start, born March 23, 1993, a week later than his due date. As a toddler, he climbed fences three times his size to escape into the big world. As a student at Amy Biehl High School and CNM, he believed he already knew all he needed to know. His school was the world in which he traveled, sometimes with a band of friends, sometimes as his mom’s copilot, always in search of the next adventure.

May his next adventure be a glorious one.

He is survived by his mother and traveling buddy Joline Gutierrez Krueger; father and lecturer of wise words unheeded Mike Glenn; siblings Alicia, Chris, Nik, David, Donald, Matt, Jacob and Jazmin; favorite aunt Justine Krueger plus many other aunts, uncles and cousins near and far; grandmother Carol Krueger; grandfather John Glenn and wife, Betty; beloved dog Maggie and not-so-beloved cat Penelope; and many friends who knew him as Suga D and someone who was always up for fun, a game of Magic or a place to stay when the world turned cold.

Devin was not the kind for funerals and sadness. Instead, a celebration of his life begins at 2 pm March 18, 2017 (Saturday) at the home he loved high in the mountains in Tijeras. Email
