Daniel Espinosa of Albuquerqu­e, NM passed away Saturday March 11, 2017. Daniel Espinosa spent most of his adult life dedicated to Veterans. He worked at the VA Hospital in the Orthotics/ Prosthetis­ts Department measuring, fitting and fabricatin­g artificial limbs and braces for disabled veterans. His career started in the Marine Corp in Korea where he repaired tents and boots. The skills he learned helped him get a job after his tour with Carrie Tingly Hospital in T-or-C, then Albuquerqu­e Prosthetic­s Co. moving on to the VA hospital where he worked over 30 years. He served as Commander for the VFW post 401. Daniel was a member of the Military Order of Cooties, also for the VA, where he received the Presidenti­al Honor Award for his extensive volunteer work throughout his life.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ella May (Bourguet) Espinosa; three sons, Daniel (Martina), Claude (Leonor) and Richard; grandchild­ren, Kathrin, Jeffery, Natasha and Grant. He is also survived by his sisters, Susan, Betty, Janet, Carol, and Maxine; and brothers, Phillip, Bernard, and David. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah; and his brother, Clifford.

Services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017, 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Wyoming. Friends may visit beginning at 4:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel’s memory to the VFW Post 401, 2011 Girard Blvd. SE, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87106.
