Jeffrey Byrd Brownell born January 7, 1948, Willmar, MI, passed away peacefully in his sleep March 7, 2017, Albuquerqu­e, NM.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Mary Jean Brownell and his son Paul Brownell.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Brownell; and his six children: daughter Abigail Brownell; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Brownell, son Peter Brownell and his wife Heather Brownell, daughter Hannah Brownell, son Luke Brownell and wife Angela Brownell, daughter Sarah Brownell, daughter Mary Crago and husband Scott Crago; and 14 grandchild­ren as well as two siblings; brother Scott Brownell and wife Babsie Brownell; sister Holly Brownell; many nieces and nephews; and many who lovingly considered him their "Papa Byrd".

He was a strong man of God. Having all of God’s love to give, he deeply and unyielding­ly loved his wife and children. Papa Byrd frequently welcomed "adopted" children into his family, loving them as his own. Byrd was full of sweet-hearted sentimenta­lity, Godly wisdom, and a passion for Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. Byrd had a passion for the outdoors, his profession as a nurse, and always and forever people. He was artistic, articulate, intuitive, sincerely sweet hearted and devoted to the people he loved. Our Papa Byrd will be dearly missed by his wife, family and the countless people whose lives and hearts were blessed to know him.

A memorial for Byrd was held in Albuquerqu­e, NM at Tramway Community Church, 4800 Tramway Ridge NE at 10:30AM on Monday March 13, 2017.
