ESPAÑOLA VALLEY HUMANE SOCIETY
Waiting for a home at the Española Valley Humane Society is a boy named Cash. Although he is a goofy dog, he has learned three important commands: sit, stay and come. He is 11 months old and willing to learn. He’s lived with other dogs and does well with older children. Also stop by to meet Peanut Butter, a medium-size cat with a medium-soft coat and a medium amount of energy. He is good on his own, but he also enjoys being around people. He is well mannered, and enjoys giving and getting affection. He is a year-old neutered male cat and would love to go home with you.
These two and many others may be adopted Monday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Española Valley Humane Society, 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. 505-753-8662. To see more adoptable pets, log on to www.evalleyshelter.org or www.petango.com.
There are a few things happening at the shelter, as well. Today from 1-1:30 p.m., there will be volunteer training for those interested in helping out with the animals at the shelter. Stop by the shelter for a short orientation and then volunteer your free time for special adoption events and other fun opportunities. On Saturday, help celebrate Earth Day by helping shelter staff clean up the shelter grounds. Tools and a lunch will be provided. Call or stop by the shelter from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Lastly, there will be a low-cost vaccine clinic, with $12 vaccines and $25 heartworm testing available, on Thursday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the shelter.
