FUN FOR A CAUSE

Girls Night Out benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities

- BY ROZANNA M. MARTINEZ

Make your next Girls Night Out count and get the girls together for a cause.

Head to Girls Night Out on April 28 at Isleta Resort & Casino for some serious pampering, primping, shopping and more. Event proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico programs.

Now in its 12th year, the 21-and-older event has more than 100 booths of vendors offering jewelry, clothing, handbags, perfume, health and beauty products and much more.

“We have indulgence providers, and they’re there to provide pampering and indulgences for our ticket guests, and that can be anything from makeup touch-up, hairstyling — we have massages,” said Melissa Gomez, marketing and special events manager for Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico. “We have skin indulgences. We have henna and body painting. We have food, like chocolate sampling, wine sampling, iced coffee sampling. So we have several salons that are doing the spa indulgences, and then we have other health and beauty indulgences and vendors.”

Walk around and be entertained by

DJs pumping out music that will keep you moving. Also move to the dance and Jazzercise demonstrations and enjoy performances by a local belly dance troupe throughout the night.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico operates the Ronald McDonald House, as well as a Ronald McDonald Family Room at Presbyterian Hospital and the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital. Last year, the Ronald McDonald House offered 9,677 nights of lodging to families traveling to Albuquerque who have a child that needs medical care at any hospital in the city.
