BOOKS/LECTURES
THE ART AND FRIENDSHIP OF CADY WELLS AND GEORGIA O’KEEFFE These two artists, whose lives intersected in dramatic and complex ways during the 1930s and ‘40s, lived and painted within similar landscape parameters of northern New Mexico. Each was deeply devoted to certain markers — O’Keeffe to the Pedernal of Abiquiu; Wells to the Barrancas of Pojaoque. Both created powerfully expressive landscapes that they rendered in paintings whose emotional tones, color, form and meanings could not have been more diametrically opposed. 1-2:30 p.m., New Mexico Museum of Art, 107 W. Palace Ave. By admission. 476-5072.
Len Kravitz, presents two lectures, Women, Hormones and Metabolism: Solutions to a Complex Conundrum at 2 p.m., followed by The Physiology of High Intensity Interval Exercise: New Research & New Programs at 3:30 p.m. Main Campus Lecture Hall Room 216, Santa Fe Community College, 6401 Richards Ave. Free.
