Don’t punish kids for Coke’s lies

-

Coke claims the cost of a drink will “soar” if the city passes a soda tax. Is that true? If you drink one 12 oz. Coke per day, it will cost 24 cents; and that’s only if Coke passes along the entire tax to the consumer, which they haven’t done in other cities that have a soda tax.

With 10 teaspoons of sugar per can of soda, you’re courting obesity, diabetes and heart disease to have more than one soda a day. (Imagine 10 tsps of sugar in your coffee!)

Adults can’t process more than 6 to 9 tsps per day… and no child should have more than 4 teaspoons.

But every child needs a pre-K education. Please don’t punish poor children because you’re being misled by Coke.

Santa Fe needs welleducated citizens now and in the future.

Vote YES May 2 for our children and our health.
