Earl Franklin Perry, 92, well known political leader, family man and outdoorsma­n, passed away May 2, 2017. Earl was an incredible high school athlete and honored at his high school in Tulsa OK where he graduated in

May of 1942. He was honored in 1992 as one of the greatest athletes at Daniel Webster High School, where he accumulate­d 16 varsity letters. He had numerous All State recognitio­ns and attended the University of Oklahoma in 1942 on a football scholarshi­p. While there, he decided to join the Marine Corps at the beginning of WWII. He was assigned to the 1st Marine Davison and served his country at Guadal Canal, Bougainvil­le and Tulagui from 19421945. Honorably discharged from the USMC he managed and played for several profession­al baseball organizati­ons until 1960.

On Aug 13, 1966, Earl married Elizabeth Marino of Albuquerqu­e. They shared a wonderful life together where they engaged in numerous city, county and statewide political activities and campaigns. They traveled the world and lived life to the extreme fullest. They were also active in a newspaper business, publisher and editor of food and beverage newspaper, owned the New Mexico News, published and edited the New Mexico AF of L-CIO Union Newspaper.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Beula Perry and son Terry Perry. He is survived by his son, M. Kent Perry; beloved wife, Elizabeth Perry; and numerous grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews; and care giver, Shawn O’Brien.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH-Wyoming.
