Dickson, Robert H.

-

Robert H. Dickson passed away peacefully at home, just after midnight on Friday, May 5, 2017, at the age of 88. He was lovingly cared for until the end by his family and with the heartfelt assistance of Hospice of New Mexico. Our nurse Carrie, was amazing in her knowledge, guidance and compassion.

Bob was born in Carlsbad, NM, on a hot day in July. He was raised during the depression and grew up during WWII. When he was called by his beloved America to serve during the Korean Conflict, he proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 102nd Ballistic Meteorological Unit. After his duty, he returned to Carlsbad to marry the love of his life, Margaret Mashaw in 1952.

Bob cultivated a successful lifetime career in the industrial mining supply business starting in Carlsbad and then in Albuquerque after moving his young family here in 1966. With hard work and determination, Bob had ownership in this business. He was also a proud lifetime member of the Elk’s Club.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Margaret. Also by his four grown children, Ruth and her husband Ken Roberts, Randy and his wife Sherre, Maxine and her husband Willem Blom, and Annette and her husband Dock Livingston.

Surviving grown grandkids are Andrew and Peter Roberts. Christian, Klaas, Spencer and Rainier Blom. Brandon, Marissa and Troy Livingston.

Dad, and our Mom together taught us many things... mostly about being good people, instilling us with a strong work ethic, help wherever you can, cherish your friends and take care of your family... and try to have some fun along the way. Most of all, be fair and kind.

Services will be held at Risen Savior on Wyoming at 11am, Friday May 12th. Interment following at Gates of Heaven.
