Gail Lynn Chambliss, 43, of Albuquerqu­e, passed away on May 30, 2017 following a courageous battle with cancer. She passed from this world on her own terms and in the same manner in which she lived with strength, resilience and dignity.

Gail was born April 8, 1974 to James Robert (Bob) Chambliss and O. Inez Chambliss in Shelbina, Missouri. She graduated from Hobbs High School in 1992. She earned her Bachelor’s of Business Administra­tion in accounting from The University of New Mexico - Robert O. Anderson School of Management.

Gail was a gifted profession­al and enjoyed a successful career as an accounting audit manager, culminatin­g in her promotion to Director of Risk Management for a public utility company. Throughout her career, she generously gave of her time as a mentor to young women and as an Audit & Risk Committee Member for the Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails.

Gail will be remembered by her family and friends for her brilliant mind, independen­t spirit, tireless work ethic, and keen sense of humor. The grit, courage and grace she demonstrat­ed throughout her life will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her beloved father, Bob Chambliss. She is survived by her mother, Inez Chambliss of Albuquerqu­e and brother, Dr. Paul Dean Chambliss, of New York, NY.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hope, 3321 N. Dal Paso, Hobbs, NM. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, Hobbs, NM.
