Jean Trevor Thysse, a true gentleman and citizen of the world, died peaceful of natural causes in Albuquerque on May

2, 2017. A former manager of Four

Hills Country Club, he was 69.

Jean was a native of Lausanne, Switzerland and attended the prestigious L’Ecole de Lausanne for hotel management, then trained at the Au Beau Rivage Hotel and the famous Shiller Hotel, both in Lausanne. In his early career, he managed hotels on five continents, including luxury properties in England, Nigera, Thailand, Iran, and the United States. With a former spouse, Jean opened the renowned Le Marmiton restaurant in Dallas, then began his golf course management career at the Dallas Country Club. He enjoyed a long golf industry career that included managment of Four Hills Country Club from 2001 to 2004 in Albuquerque, the Seven Oaks Country Club in Bakersfield, the Copper River Country Club in Fresno and the Visalia Country Club, all in California. Jean returned to New Mexico several years ago to work as a personal assistant and executive chef.

He is deeply missed by his many friends and daughter, Shae, of Austin, Texas and Dylan of Albuquerque. Jean’s idea of a fun weekend dinner was a five-course meal that lasted three hours, with multiple wines and palate cleansers. He was a master of sauces and no salad or dessert of his could be called "simple" but was always beyond superb. Jean loved to ballroom dance, landscape, explore the country in his RV and play golf. He was a true "old school" gentleman of astonishing talents, abiding dignity and a friend to all he met. Memorial services planned in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where, according to his wishes his ashes will be released into the Pacific.
