THE INTERIM UNM president has named (Janice Ruggiero) an interim athletic director. Let that stand until a permanent UNM president is selected. Going forward, the only common-sense approach is to allow the incoming permanent president to select the permanent athletic director.

I WOULD ALSO suggest that they keep Janice Ruggiero on-board as acting/interim AD until the audit has been completed. The new president should have the opportunity to give his/her input for the AD hire and the new AD should know where he/ she stands regarding all aspects of the job. … And please, a vice presidency is not needed for this job.

JANICE RUGGIERO is a wise choice to be the interim UNM AD. She is experienced, capable, intelligent and knowledgeable for the AD position. Why waste time and money on a “national search?” … Janice is home grown and schooled, and is the ultimate Lobo. “Nuff said.”

GIVEN THE alleged violations of laws associated with the golf outing, let’s hope that the AG, Auditor, and UNM are smart enough to change the locks on Krebs’ office and not let him remove any papers or delete any files without the review and then permission from one or more of these authorities.
