Margaret E. "Margee" Chavez died June 8, 2017 in Albuquerqu­e,

New Mexico at the age of 70.

Margee is survived by her husband, Albert Wenzelburg­er; her mother Lucy Chavez of Albuquerqu­e; her daughter, Lisa Bohannon and husband, Bo; grandchild­ren, Jacqueline Apodaca, Brooke Bohannon, and Chase Bohannon; brothers, Ernest Chavez and wife, Maria of Albuquerqu­e NM and Joseph Chavez and wife, Sandy of Sun Valley AZ; and sister, Elaine Culbertson of Los Lunas, NM. Margee is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Ferminio J. Chavez; her son Fernando "Nando" Dominguez; and her brother, Dennis Chavez.

Margee was born in 1947 in Albuquerqu­e to Ferminio and Lucy Chavez. She graduated from Valley High School in 1965 and attended the University of New Mexico. She later graduated with a degree in History. In 1974, Margee began her federal career at Kirtland Air Force Base. Throughout her career, she worked in many Air Force organizati­ons and retired with more than 30 years service as a Manpower Analyst.

Margee was known by her family and friends for her sharp wit and dry sense of humor. She could incite a room full of laughter with the slightest off-hand remark. Despite adversity, she always maintained a positive outlook. She enjoyed her monthly visits to the Casino and looked forward to her annual "Girls Getaway to Las Vegas." Margee was an avid reader, enjoyed her Facebook friends and family, and was very knowledgea­ble of current events and politics.

She was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Albuquerqu­e.

Rosary will be recited Wednesday, June 14, 2017 1:30 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87110. Cremation will follow and Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe NM at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Margee’s name to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. The family would like to thank her caregivers at Presbyteri­an Hospital for their love and care shown to them.
