Squires, Bruce Victor

Bruce Victor Squires, 59, of Santa Fe, NM, died peacefully at his home in Santa Fe on Sunday morning June 11, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer with his dearest friends of 30 years, Jana Janssen and Tracey Wilson holding his hands at his side. He was a visionary, mentor, leader, and friend to each one of us. His compassion and empathy for all people was second to none. He loved the outdoors, especially hiking Atalaya Mountain every morning, playing bridge and had traveled the world extensively. Bruce was born in Santa Fe, NM to Arta Louise Bickley Squires and Wirt Victor Squires on April 13, 1958.

Bruce was preceded in death by his mother Arta Louise Bickley Squires, and his brother-in-law David Matthew Higgins. He is survived by his father Wirt Squires, his sister Brenda Kaye Higgins, his nephew Matthew Higgins and Matthew’s three children Justin, Mikayla, and David, his niece Joanna Higgins Becker, her husband Wes and their three children Wyatt, Maddie, and Molly, and his two longtime best friends Jana Janssen and Adam Cohen.
