Seager’s three homers power LA past Mets

Rockies rally past D-backs; Boston takes AL East lead

LOS ANGELES — Corey Seager continued the Los Angeles Dodgers’ homerun parade Tuesday night, hitting three against the New York Mets in a 12-0 victory.

Seager matched his career-high with the three homers. LA also got one apiece from rookie Cody Bellinger and Yasmani Grandal. Bellinger leads the NL with 22 homers.

The Dodgers have nine home runs in their two games against the Mets.

Seager also doubled, to match his careerhigh with four hits but his first with four extra-base hits. It gave him six RBIs on the night. He flied out with the bases loaded in the sixth inning in his last at-bat.

Brandon McCarthy (6-3) worked six innings for the win. ROCKIES 4, DIAMONDBAC­KS 3: In Denver, Nolan Arenado hit a two-run triple in the eighth as Colorado beat Arizona.

Carlos Gonzalez homered and saved a run with a diving catch of David Peralta’s line drive in the fifth to help the Rockies win their sixth straight.

Peralta and Paul Goldschmid­t homered for the D-backs.

RED SOX 8, ROYALS 3: In Kansas City, Mo., Chris Sale shut down KC while pitching into the ninth as Boston beat the Royals and moved into first place in the AL East.

Sale (9-3) gave up a homer to Mike Moustakas in the second and a two-run shot to Jorge Bonifacio in the ninth before departing two outs shy of his second consecutiv­e complete game.

RAYS 6, REDS 5: In St. Petersburg, Fla., Corey Dickerson went deep and Alex Cobb threw seven solid innings as Tampa Bay beat Cincinnati. Cobb (6-5) gave up two runs and eight hits while striking out six.

PIRATES 7, BREWERS 3: In Milwaukee, Chad Kuhl (2-6) got his first win since April and Andrew McCutchen homered as Pittsburgh beat Milwaukee. Jose Osuna’s three-run homer highlighte­d the Pirates’ six-run first..

CUBS 4, PADRES 0: In Chicago, Anthony Rizzo hit another leadoff home run to help Mike Montgomery get his first win of the season in Chicago’s victory over San Diego.

Rizzo homered on the second pitch from Jhoulys Chacin (6-6). It was his third home run leading off in seven games.

ORIOLES 6, INDIANS 5: In Baltimore, Manny Machado went 4-for-4, homered twice and drove in four runs to help Baltimore beat Cleveland and end the Indians’ six-game winning streak.

After the Orioles rallied from a 5-2 deficit to pull even, Machado doubled off Bryan Shaw (1-2) in the seventh inning and scored on a double by Adam Jones.

ANGELS 8, YANKEES 3: In New York, Cameron Maybin hit a tie-breaking home run to spark a three-run seventh inning as Los Angeles beat New York to extend the Yankees’ losing streak to seven games.

The Yankees’ Aaron Judge hit his major league-leading 24th home run.

GIANTS 6, BRAVES 3: In Atlanta, Austin Slater hit a three-run homer to spark San Francisco to a victory over Atlanta.

Matt Moore (3-7), a Moriarty High alum, pitched seven strong innings for his first win in over a month. CARDINALS 8, PHILLIES 1 (11): In Philadelph­ia, Yadier Molina and Tommy Pham both homered in a seven-run 11th inning to help St. Louis beat Philadelph­ia.

NATIONALS 12, MARLINS 3: In Miami, Bryce Harper started the scoring with a two-run single and Gio Gonzalez (7-1) pitched seven innings to help Washington.

RANGERS 6, BLUE JAYS 1: In Arlington, Texas, Carlos Gomez homered in a fourrun first inning as Texas beat Toronto.

TWINS 9, WHITE SOX 7: In Minneapoli­s, Miguel Sano and Kennys Vargas each hit a long homer to help Minnesota beat Chicago.
