Racetrack-casino marks fourth anniversary with special promotions
Celebrate The Downs Racetrack and Casino’s fourth anniversary with some lucrative promotions in July.
Be part of the celebration during “$15,000 Cash Progressives.” There will be an approximate $2,500 payout from Saturday, July 1, through July 15 and again from July 16 through July 31.
Earn 500 base points playing your favorite game to qualify. There will be an approximate $500 payout Mondays through Fridays in July. Earn 250 base points within the week to qualify. There will be 20 daily progressives at about $400 each day on Mondays through Fridays in July. Earn 50 base points on the same day to be eligible. Earn five times the points on Tuesday, July 4, Wednesdays in July, and on July 15.
Guests can win some extra summer cash during the “$10K Anniversary Cash” drawings on July 8 and July 22. There will be five drawings on each of the designated Saturdays. Nine winners will be selected in each drawing for cash prizes ranging from $50 to $250.
The Downs is giving you plenty of chances to pad your pockets this July. The “$125,000 Summer Cash” promotion runs Mondays through Fridays in July. Drawings will be held at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. There will be three winners selected during each drawing for a chance at up to $500 in cash.
Weekends are reserved for “$15,000 Downs Derby” on Saturdays this July. Virtual Race Times are 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Each race awards a total pool of $600 in free play to win, place, show and fourth-place finishes. On Sundays in July, it’s time for “$20,000 Slot Tournaments.” There will be four tournaments each Sunday with a prize pool of $1,000 each. Tournaments will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m., 5 to 7 p.m. and 8 to 10 p.m. Triple Crown Players Club members can qualify for one or all four.
This July, The Downs will hold random slot tournaments that will award freeplay prizes to the top five scores. Another fun promotion is the “Random Virtual Downs Derby,” which awards a shared prize of $100 in free play to win, place and show finishes.
Place your bets on your favorite pony during live horse racing now through Sept. 24. Post time is 6:05 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The first post is 1:30 p.m. Sundays.
Decompress from a long week and head over to the First Turn Lounge for some great music and cocktails. Fat City takes the stage tonight and Saturday. Black Pearl performs July 7 and 8, Gonzalo plays July 14 and 15, Fat City returns on July 21, Severo Grupo Fuego performs July 22, and DJ Mister E plays July 28. Thursdays are Ladies’ Nights. DJ Sider will keep you on the dance floor. Also, enjoy drink specials all night long. Black Pearl will take over the entertainment on Thursday, July 6, and July 20.
Tease up that hair, break out the leg warmers, and dust off those parachute pants on July 29 for The Downs fourth annual “I Want My MTV ’80s Party” in the First Turn Lounge. There will be cash prizes for best ’80s attire. Partygoers also can enjoy the best ’80s music and videos throughout the lounge and outside on the patio on a 20-foot high-definition TV.
