NEW YORK — Defending champion Giancarlo Stanton will be the top seed in the Home Run Derby on Monday night at his home ballpark in Miami.

Stanton received the No. 1 seed after winning the event during All-Star week last year in San Diego. He will face New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez, the No. 8 seed, in the opening round at Marlins Park.

Yankees rookie Aaron Judge, who leads the majors with 29 home runs, is the No. 2 seed and will square off against seventhseeded Justin Bour of the hometown Marlins. Another rookie, No. 3 seed Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is paired with sixth-seeded Charlie Blackmon of Colorado. No. 4 seed Mike Moustakas from the Kansas City Royals is matched against Minnesota slugger Miguel Sano, the fifth seed.

MARLINS 9, CARDINALS 6: In St. Louis, Stanton recorded his 22nd career multihomer game, and Marcell Ozuna and Bour also hit home runs for Miami.

Stanton went 3-for-4 and also walked while driving in four runs. He has five hits in his last two games after starting the Marlins’ road trip in a 1-for-17 funk.

ROCKIES 5, REDS 3: In Denver, Jon Gray hit his first career homer an estimated 467 feet — the farthest by any Rockies player this season — and pitched effectively into the sixth inning as Colorado beat Cincinnati on a sweltering night.

Gray’s two-run homer in the second was the longest among pitchers since MLB’s Statcast began tracking distances in 2015.

DODGERS 1, DIAMONDBACKS 0: In Los Angeles, Alex Wood (10-0) allowed three hits and struck out 10 in seven innings, and Yasmani Grandal had an RBI double in the second to lead the Dodgers.

Cashner (3-7) was wild into the third inning, then retired 10 straight batters before first baseman Pete Kozma’s error on a dropped throw kept the sixth going. Xander Bogaerts, ended the no-hit bid with a two-run homer just over the 14-foot wall in left field.

BLUE JAYS 7, YANKEES 6: In New York, Dellin Betances forced in the go-ahead run with four walks in the eighth inning as Toronto beat the Yankees after wasting a five-run lead.

Aaron Judge tied Joe DiMaggio’s Yankees rookie record with his 29th homer and JiMan Choi homered in his Yankees debut.

ATHLETICS 7, WHITE SOX 4: In Oakland, Calif., Sonny Gray pitched six mostly sharp innings to beat Chicago for the second time in two weeks as the Athletics defeated the White Sox. The win was manager Bob Melvin’s 499th with the A’s and the 992nd of his career. ANGELS 2, TWINS 1: In Minneapolis, Parker Bridwell pitched six scoreless innings, Kole Calhoun hit his 12th home run of the season and the Angels avoided a road sweep.

ASTROS 10, BRAVES 4: In Atlanta, George Springer drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning, Josh Reddick and Marwin Gonzalez each had three RBIs and the Astros improved to 58-27, best in the majors.

BREWERS 4, ORIOLES 0: In Milwaukee, Matt Garza pitched into the seventh inning and Keon Broxton hit a two-run homer to lift the Brewers to a three-game sweep.

CUBS 7, RAYS 3: In Chicago, Jon Jay connected for his third career pinch-hit homer and Ian Happ hit a tie-breaking two-run single an inning later, helping the Cubs rally.

The Cubs (42-42) improved to 12-11 in their last 23 games. They have not been more than two games over or two games under .500 at any point since May 27.

GIANTS 5, TIGERS 4: In Detroit, Ty Blach took a shutout into the seventh inning, and San Francisco held off a late Detroit rally.

PADRES 6, INDIANS 2: In Cleveland, Cory Spangenberg hit a two-run homer, Luis Perdomo won his third straight start and San Diego improved to 14-26 on the road.

PIRATES 5, PHILLIES 2: In Philadelphia, Gerrit Cole pitched six strong innings and drove in his first runs of the season with a tie-breaking two-run single to lead Pittsburgh over the Phillies.

METS-NATIONALS: In Washington, the series finale between the Mets and Nationals was postponed because of rain. No makeup date was announced.
