Development’s leased spaces nearly filled
Construction work almost complete on Shops at Holly
For residents of the Northeast Heights, the wait is nearly over. Construction is almost finished on the Shops at Holly development at San Pedro and Paseo del Norte NE.
All but two of the 14 spaces in the shops have now been filled, according to Todd Strickland, commercial real estate adviser for NAI Maestas & Ward Commercial Real Estate.
Strickland and partner Thaila Toha have been working to fill the spaces for the development since before construction began, but Strickland said it has been a relatively easy project to work on.
“We had four leases (signed) before construction even started,” he said. “And I think as soon as signage goes up, the last two spaces should move fairly quickly.”
He said the exterior still needs minor construction, but the development is ready for all tenants to begin improvements. The Shops at Holly consists of spaces measuring roughly 1,750 square feet. However, some tenants like Blaze Pizza and True Rest, a submersion therapy facility, are taking two slots.
Of the original 24,100 square feet of space, Strickland and Toha have only 3,000 square feet still available.
Blaze Pizza, an anchor for the development, opened on July 20, with uBreakiFix coming soon after. uBreakiFix repairs smartphones, tablets and other devices. Strickland predicted all tenants will be open for business by Thanksgiving.
Other tenants are Jersey Mike’s, Waxing the City, a body waxing franchise with one New Mexico location in Old Town, Tamashi, Slapfish and a retailer still completing the leasing process. On the east end of the development, Tropical Smoothie will open with the center’s only drive-through.
“What’s really nice about the Shops at Holly is you can park in one spot, and everything is close by,” Strickland said. “And it’s really a G-rated area. There aren’t any bars or anything. It’s all family friendly.”
The Shops at Holly is just north of several restaurants including Chipotle, Chick-fil-A and Panda Express.
