-

Julia Mae "Julie" Doak-Emery, lifelong resident of Albuquerque was born on August 1, 1960. She passed away suddenly in the early hours of

July 20th in her home in Tijeras, NM leaving us all in shock and disbelief. She was preceded in death by her father, Don W. Doak. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Steve Emery, of the Tijeras home; mother, Nancy Doak, in Albuquerque; brothers Bill Doak of Kokomo, Indiana; John Doak and his wife Deb of Billings, Montana; Tom Doak and sister Dinora Doak both of Albuquerque. Brothers-in-law Mark, Paul and Tony Emery all residing in the Albuquerque area and many nephews and nieces.

She graduated from Eldorada High School in 1978 and spent many years in the real estate title business from where she retired on Aug 1st 2014. She was a tenacious worker and a voracious reader. As a "wanna be" gourmet cook, she was an obsessive recipe and cookbook collector! Her talent for shopping secondhand stores was uncanny. She loved finding little treasures.

Julie had a vast and varied circle of friends, will be dearly missed and thought of fondly. She loved everyone and stated it often and openly. Taken from us all too soon.

A celebration of Julie’s life will be held at Mountainside Church of Christ, Allan Taylor officiating (12300 Indian School Road 87112) on Tuesday, August 1st at 9am with a reception following for family and friends at El Pinto Restaurant located at 10500 4th St NW 87114 at 11:00 am.

Her cremated remains will be scattered at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Julie’s name.
