Mollo, Connie
Our mother, Connie Mollo, gained her angel wings Tuesday July 25th 2017.
She was a woman of great faith and had a very healthy acceptance of death and the afterlife. We know she is at peace, in heaven, with her beloved grandparents, aunts and uncles that went before her.
Connie was the first born to Raymudo and Lucy Carrillo on April 7, 1955 in Denison, TX at Perrin Air Force Base. That’s right, this proud New Mexican woman was actually a Texan, which we all teased her about. Even so, our mother’s heart was deeply New Mexican, she had a love for her home that was contagious. We were all instructed to attend the university near mom (UNM), she couldn’t bear the thought of any of her daughters living more than 5 miles from her. Connie stayed close to her parents as well, she took so much pride in being their daughter.
Family was everything to her, Connie loved her family and friends fiercely. You always knew where you stood with our mom, she wore her giant heart on her sleeve.
In her retirement, Connie became an accomplished quilter & full time Momma & Nana to her four girls and four grandchildren. This is when she was happiest, this was her heaven on earth.
Connie is survived by so many who loved her, but most notably her loving husband of 31 years, Paul Mollo. Her four daughters Amanda (and husband Daniel), AnaMarie (and husband John), Paula and Alexandra. Her grandchildren (hito) Noah, Augustine, Jay and Lucie. Her parents Ray and Lucy Carrillo. Her siblings Rai (and wife Lisa) and Jo (and husband Laurie) and her BFF Celine Crawley. She is also survived by her niece and nephew Sofia Carrillo and Max Ostrow Carrillo. Aunts Sadie Padilla, Angie Jacobson, Mela Carrillo, Sr. Conchita Carrillo, uncle Tomas Carrillo and many many close cousins.
Catholic services will be held to celebrate her life Fri., Aug. 4th, 10:30am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment to follow, mariachis to sing her favorite songs, just like she would have wanted
Connie was the heart of our entire family. God only knows what we’ll do without her. Rest Momma, we love you.
