Friday: Rain caused the postponement of the scheduled opener of a four-game series between the Isotopes and the visiting Fresno Grizzlies. The teams will play a doubleheaders (two seven-inning games) today beginning at 4:35 p.m. Thursday: The Isotopes’ game against the New Orleans Baby Cakes in Metairie, La., was canceled because of unplayable field conditions. Since it was the last scheduled date of the year between the two teams, the game will not be made up. Should contenders for the PCL Pacific Southern Division title play a different number of games, the division champion will be determined by winning percentage.
This and that: The parent Colorado Rockies selected the contract of IF Ryan McMahon on Friday and optioned OF

He has batted .354 with 19 home runs in 108 minor league games this season. Tapia, 23, had been called up four times to the Rockies in 2017 and has batted a combined .287 in those stints. To make room for McMahon on the 40-man major league roster, Colorado designated for assignment Isotope LHP Sam Moll. He has gone 3-2 with a 4.18 ERA (47.1 IP, 22 ER), 18 walks and 39 strikeouts in 44 relief appearances at Triple-A this season. In his minor league career, Moll is 9-10 with a 3.46 ERA (208.0 IP, 80 ER), 67 walks and 193 strikeouts in 145 games across five levels of play.
