Rouen, Patricia

-

It is our sad duty to report the passing of our beloved sister, Patricia Rouen, formerly of Erie, PA, on Wednesday, August 15, 2017 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Patricia was born in Erie, PA, in 1936, the eldest of five sibling to Isabel Neff and Lawrence Rouen. They preceded her in death as well as her brother Tom Rouen of Syracuse, NY, and Naples, FL, and her nephew, Daniel Celico of Westerly, RI.

She is survived by her two brothers, David of Wilmington, NC, and Martin of Franklin Park, PA, and her sister, Donna Celico of Westerly, RI, who was Patricia’s fifth birthday present as they share the same birthday. She is also survived by her eleven nieces and nephews, who she spoiled equally and seventeen great nieces and nephews, two of who she lovingly nannied during her retirement. Patricia graduated from Villa Maria College in Erie, with eight others, in the first Bachelor’s Degree Program for Nursing in 1953. Thus began a 45 year career in the medical fields of nursing, nursing home administration, and public health service and education. Her fondest tenures of employment were spent in public health service to American Indians: the Navajo Reservation in Chinle, AZ; the Aleutes on Saint George Island in the Bering Sea; the Turtle Mountain Reservation in Belcourt, ND, and finally, the Alamo Navajo Reservation in New Mexico.

Fond and happy memories of Patricia are her legacy and a tribute to a life devoted to family and to those she nursed. "Well done, good and

faithful servant"
