Martinez de Blum, Clementine

-

Clementina Martinez de Blum our beloved wife, mother, tia, abuela, bisabuela and friend left our world in the early morning of September 11, 2017, just a week after her 94th birthday. A birth-right Quaker and faithful member of the Albuquerque Friends Meeting, Clemita was the second youngest of eight children born in Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Arnulfo and Clementina Martinez, all deceased. She was educated at the Escuela Normal in Cd. Victoria and the Normal Superior de Mexico. Clementina received a scholarship to attend Wilmington College, a Quaker school in Ohio, where she later taught. There she met her husband of 68 years, Maurice Blum.

In their years together, they served first as educational missionaries for the Congregational Church in Guadalajara, Mexico. After six years, they moved to Newton, Massachusetts where her husband worked for the Newton Public Schools. Later, they moved to Mexico City, Madrid, Spain, Casablanca, Morocco, Cuernavaca and, finally, Albuquerque, NM.

She is survived by her husband, Moe; her children, German (Pepe) Campos, and wife, Luchita of Cuernavaca, Rebecca Blum Martinez, and Ruth Kriteman of Albuquerque, and Michael Blum, and partner, Mary Brown of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by her beloved grandsons, German Campos, Franco Campos and wife, Rocio, Emilio Campos and wife, Alejandra, Adrian Benjamin and wife, Katiana, and Matthew and Benjamin Kriteman. Her great-grandchildren were the light of her life: Lorenzo Benjamin, Valentina, Marcelo, and Luciana Campos, and Camila and Emilia Campos. We already miss her. Descansa en paz.

A Memorial Meeting for Worship will be on Friday, September 15, 2017, 1:00 p. m. at The Friends Meeting House, 1600 5th St. NW. Please visit our online guestbook for Clementina at www.FrenchFunerals.com FRENCH - University 1111 University Blvd. NE 505.843.6333 www.frenchfunerals.com
