Kane Brown learns from country superstar Jason Aldean on summer tour

- BY ADRIAN GOMEZ JOURNAL ARTS EDITOR

Kane Brown is super-pumped.

He’s an opener on Jason Aldean’s “They Don’t Know” tour this summer. Although the tour is going well, Brown is also excited about the release of the deluxe version of his top 10 selftitled album. The new version will be released on Oct. 6.

“Jason is teaching me a lot of things, and we’ve become a family,” he says. “It’s been an amazing experience.”

Brown’s journey to stardom has been quicker than most.

In three years, Brown has gone from unknown to one of the most promising country singers in the industry.

After being discovered for his cover song videos on social media, Brown worked his way up to getting signed by Sony Music Nashville in 2016.

He released the EP, “Chapter 1” in March 2016. Then it was off to work on his self-titled debut, which came out in December 2016.

The deluxe version of the album will have four new songs. One of them is “Setting the Night on Fire,” a duet with Chris Young.

Brown also just released the single “Found You.”

“The album hasn’t been out that long yet, and the label wanted to add some songs to the record,” he says. “There’s plenty of life still left in this album.”

When Brown found out he was doing four new songs, his days off turned into workdays.

On the off days, he would head into the studio to work on new material. He says it was a nice break to get off tour and get to working on something new.

“It’s been tiring, but this is something I’ve been working on for a long time,” he says. “I don’t take any of this success for granted. I’m honored to be on the road with Jason and Chris and introducing myself to more and more people through music.”

Brown, 23, was raised in the Chattanooga, Tenn., area by a single mother. There were times during his childhood that he and his family were homeless, which resulted in moving around a lot.

He began singing in his high school choir, and after performing Young’s song “Gettin’ You Home,” he was hooked on country music.

It was in high school where he met fellow country singer Lauren Alaina, who he collaborated with on the gold certified single “What If’s.” The single has already reached No. 3 on the country singles chart.

With his career trajectory looking good, Brown wants to use his platform to inspire.

“I want to be a role model,” he says. “I want to help kids out and help them realize that with hard work, anything can be achieved. I’ve been blessed and it’s time to give back to my fans and community.”
