Science explains increased flooding

-

SOMETHING I have been concerned about since the 1980s when Stephen Henry Schneider was warning people about climate shift from global warming is happening. Severe flooding is forcing many people to become climate refugees.

A basic knowledge of physical science explains the reasoning behind anthropogenic global warming causes. Elementary school children are taught lower pressures, higher temperatures and greater surface area increase evaporation rates of water. All these conditions are present to a much greater extent on land than on our bodies of water. Add metabolic water from the transpiration of plants and metabolism of animals and a prescription for global disaster scenarios begins taking shape. The majority of water in the atmosphere at any given moment in time is coming from events occurring on land! What we do, how we live, and where we live matters.

I used to call a belief I formed in the early 1980s the “Flood Hypothesis” because I thought human endeavors would lead to a warmer sky. Warmer skies demonstrably hold more water. Atmospheric equilibration processes result in dew points that force larger amounts of water to fall as rain. Larger, more frequent flooding events occur. The “Flood Hypothesis” has been verified. Major flood events have been leapfrogging around the globe and striking especially vulnerable areas for many years. The frequency of major flood events appears to be increasing.

Given the locales of Houston, New Orleans, and other coastal cities, I believe we should greatly decrease their populations by encouraging and helping people to rebuild their lives elsewhere . ...
