Clorinda Miller
Clorinda Miller, age 89, passed away peacefully Monday, October 2, 2017 in Socorro surrounded by her loving family. She was born in La Joya, NM on June 24, 1928, to Francisco and Paula (Carrillo) Esquivel. Clorinda grew up in La Joya and eventually moved to Socorro in 1962. She was a woman of great faith and adored her family. She loved to cook, spend time with her grandchildren and take her occasional trip to the casino. Clorinda worked at the school cafeteria, at Ben Franklin’s store and other jobs over the years, but her main focus was on taking care of her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Jesus M. Barela; second husband, George O. Miller; son-in-law, Pete Limper; sister, Ermelina Esquivel; brothers, Luis Esquivel, Damacio Esquivel, and Gilbert Esquivel; Brother-in-law, Ramon Abeyta and Jose I. Barela Sister-in-law, Marrietta Esquivel and Aurora Pacheco; grandson, Charles A. Torres; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Christina Limper. Clorinda is survived by her son, Frank (Rosie) Barela; daughter, Christina Limper; son, Raymond (Patty) Barela; daughter, Minnie (Paul) Torres; and son, Clarence (Beckie) Barela; Step-children, Joe Miller, Joyce (Bob) Bailey, and Marsha (Roger) Brown; sisters, Ernestina Barela and Lillian Abeyta; Special Friend, Eliosim Romero; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 8:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro with Mass of Resurrection immediately following at 9:00 am. Celebrant Rev. John Anasiudu. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following service. Pallbearers will be Jess Limper, Paul Torres Jr., Josh Barela, C. J. Barela, Gabriel Barela, Richard Barela, Amanda Barela. Goodbye to the most beautiful woman. We shall long for the day that we can wrap our arms around you again.
