Dolores Marie Urioste

In the early evening houre of October 4, 2017 Dolores Marie (Martinez) Urioste was called from this earth to her eternal restring place in heaven after valiantly fighting a lon illness.

Dolores was born May 22, 1938 at Miner’s Hospital in Raton, New Mexico to Charles and Jennie ( Bargas) Martinez, the oldest of 5 children.

Dolores grew up in the coal mining camp of Koehler N. M., moving with her family to Raton in 1954. Dolores graduated from Raton High School in 1957. After graduation, Dolores worked in the Colfax County District Court office of Judge Federici for 3 years. In 1960 she married Leroy Urioste.

Dolores was preceded in death by her father Charles, her brother Leroy Martinez and her godson and nephew Joseph Martinez.

Dolores is survived by her two sons, Mack of Albuquerqu­e N.M. and Carlos of Denver, CO. Mother Jennie Martinez of Raton, sisters Marcella Laube and husband Ron of Cabe Creek , AZ. Yolanda Martinez of Albuquerqu­e N.M. and Phyllis Martinez of Raton, N. M

Also surviving Dolores are William Pichardo, Blaine and Leona Kukowski and Ida Ulibarri, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dolores worked as an Administra­tive Assistant at Albuquerqu­e TechnicalV­ocational Institute (CNM) for 28 years.

Dolores enjoyed sewing, working on her many cradt projects and tending to her plants. Dolores also loved to cook and bake, the kitchen was where she was most at home. Nobody could make better biscochito­s and her tortillas, hamburgers and milk shakes were always the best.

The family of Dolores would like to express their heartfelt appreciati­on to the staff at Home Care Assistance, Ana Arrellano and especially caregiver Francis Cordova, God Bless you Franci for all your loving care and compassion.

We would also like to say thank you to Dr. Antoine Jakiche, Chritine Ohberg and the staff of Southwest Gastroente­rology and Ambercare Hospice for all their care of Dolores.

Visitation will be Tuesday September 10, 2017 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P. M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton.

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Wednesday September 11, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Tony Ortega, Mass of the Resurrecti­on will follow at 10:30 with Father John Brasher as the celebrant, rite of Christian burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.

Arrangemen­ts and celebratio­n of love for Dolores Urioste are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
