Jack Herbert Cole
Jack Cole, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1988, died September 13, 2017, in Albuquerque.
Jack was born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 30, 1926 to the late Gail H. Cole and Hazel M. Gruschow Cole.
He served in the Army Air Corps for 2 years (19431945) at the end of WWII and was stationed at Ellington Field, Texas. In 1948, Jack married his kindergarten sweetheart, Nina V. Burks, at Outer United Presbyterian Church, Detroit Michigan. Nina preceded him in death in November 2001.
After leaving the military Jack was a sales professional involved in Real Estate sales and sales management. The majority of his career was spent in Troy and Birmingham, Michigan. Jack and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1988 to enjoy the warmer climate. While in Albuquerque he was in sales management before retiring to several part-time jobs.
Jack is survived by his children, Kenneth Cole and wife Suzan of Albuquerque, Douglas Cole and wife Mayumi of Phoenixville, Pa., Kathleen (Kate) Cole Jones and husband Tom of Troy, Mi., Robert Curtis Cole and wife Deborah Meredith of Los Altos, Ca. His two sisters, Jane Maxted of Naples, Fl., and Carolyn Folin of Birmingham, Mi. and several nieces and nephews. There are also nine grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
During their years in Albuquerque, Jack and Nina enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling around New Mexico. They were also active members of the Four Hills Mobile Home Park Lions Club. After Nina passed Jack kept busy fishing and playing poker with a group of friends.
His finally goodbye was with his immediate family in attendance.
