Don W. Hyder, the third son of Latif and Lucille Hyder, was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on December 4, 1932. He passed away in his sleep on October 3, 2017.

Don graduated from Albuquerque High School and the University of New Mexico, where he excelled in Business and Football. After graduation, he proudly served our country as a pilot in the United States Air Force. Later, following his father’s footsteps, he pursued a long and successful career in Real Estate. He branched out into Property Management in both Albuquerque and later in Del Mar where he eventually moved for a permanent vacation by the sea. His decades of business wisdom influenced many lives.

His parents, Latif and Lucille, and two brothers, Charles Hyder and Richard Hyder, predeceased Don. He is survived by his daughter Lynn Hyder (Tom), grandsons, Michael Dodds (Shannon) and Ryan Roberts, and great-grand daughter, Maya Hyder Dodds; his sister Josala Fetherolf (Eddie); numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

Don lived a life full of laughter. He traveled, entertained, loved sports and celebrated life. He generously gave of himself to everyone in his life, enriching and enlightening all who shared a part of their lives with him.

Don would not want a gathering in his honor that he could not attend. As such, there is no planned service. Please commemorate Don in your own personal way. If you would like to make a donation in his memory send to Albuquerque Office of the American Cancer Society, 8500 Menaul NE, Alb, NM 87112.
