Tourists robbed at gunpoint in Santa Fe
SANTA FE — A New Jersey couple was robbed at gunpoint in downtown Santa Fe on Tuesday night, according to the Santa Fe Police Department.
The 60-year-old male victim said a man wearing a bright green ski mask, light pants and a gray long-sleeved shirt pulled out a gun and demanded the victim’s wallet and his wife’s purse on the corner of Palace Avenue and Cienega Street just before 10 p.m., a brief police report says. The purse was later found in a parking garage dumpster on Marcy Street and Washington Avenue. The suspect used a debit card at a Sonic restaurant, the report says.
Police didn’t provide additional details Wednesday because the case is still under investigation, department spokesman Greg Gurule said.
