The first time Nano Stern performed in Albuquerque was during a ¡Globalquerque! a few years ago.

The Chilean musician can’t wait to get back to the National Hispanic Cultural Center for his performance on Thursday, Nov. 16.

“We’re going to be in the big theater,” he says excitedly. “The area is so beautiful. When I’m in Albuquerque, my heart is happy. There is a Spanish connection to the area.”

Stern is a huge name in his native Chile. He’s picked up numerous awards and often sells out stadium shows. His most recent body of work is the EP “Santiago.”

For his concert at the NHCC, he is traveling with three other musicians.

“Each of the players are so dynamic that we change instruments many times in the set,” Stern says. “I’ll be playing violin and flute. It’s a very multipurpose type of set.” Read more on Stern, see Page 20. Comic book fans, we’ve got something for you this week. Staff writer Rozanna M. Martinez gives a preview of what’s coming at this weekend’s Indigenous Comic Con. To read more, see Pages 14 and 15.

Martinez also got a chance to speak with psychic medium Deb Sheppard, who makes a stop at Sandia Resort & Casino on Nov. 17. To read more, see Page 12.

Making Movies is a band that likes to make a statement. The indie rock band will make stops in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque this coming week. To read more, see Page 23.

And there is a hip-hop show not to miss. Snow Tha Product makes her way back to Sunshine Theater on Tuesday, Nov. 14. The Latina lyricist is best-known for her contribution to the “Hamilton Mixtape.” To read more, see Page 21.

And this week, Johnny Depp’s latest, “Murder on the Orient Express” opens. Read the review on Page 4.
