‘Winning Wheels’ among this month’s promotions at The Downs
This November, The Downs Racetrack & Casino has some fun planned for every day of the week.
Start each week off with a chance at some extra cash Mondays through Fridays this month during the “$120,000 Winning Wheels” promotion. Three winners will be drawn at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Up to $1,000 cash can be won just by spinning wheels.
On Saturdays and Sundays, guests can take part in the “$12,000 U-Spin Weekend” for a chance to win a share of $3,000 in free play. Patrons qualify for the promotion when they earn 100 points playing their favorite games at The Downs. Rack up those points faster on Saturday, Nov. 11, when players earn five times the points in commemoration of Veterans Day. Guests also earn five times the points every Wednesday this month as well as on Thanksgiving Day, which falls on Nov. 23. Guests who have birthdays in November earn three times the points on their birthday. Those without November birthdays can also accrue three times the points every Tuesday this month.
Also on Tuesdays, active or retired military personnel with ID can be part of “Military Tuesdays.” Register once at the Players Club, earn one point and automatically a virtual game will appear on your machine to play through and win $5 to $25 in free play.
The Downs continues its “Instant Hit” promotion on Wednesdays, “Early Bird” promotion on Thursdays, and “Random Downs Derby.” There will be 15 “Instant Hit” drawings taking place every Wednesday. Patrons qualify for the promotion when they earn 25 base points within 30 minutes before each drawing. All prizes are free play and must be used within 48 hours of a win. There will be 60 winners each Wednesday. On Thursdays, players qualify for the “Early Bird” promotion by earning 50 base points. At that time, a bonus wheel will appear on his or her game for a chance to win $5 to $500 in free play. The promotion ends when a total of $500 in free play has been awarded.
Participants in the “Random Downs Derby” can win their share of $100 in free play. Those who take win, place or show will share the $100 free-play prize.
New members who sign up for the Triple Crown Players Club can win up to $500 in free play. Newly enrolled members who accrue 15 base points on the same day they enroll can win up to $500 in free slot play.

The Downs, handle the cooking on Thanksgiving Day. It will be offering a four-course meal, starting with creamy butternut squash bisque infused with roasted red bell pepper and chives. A palate-cleanser of raspberry sorbet with fresh blueberries follows. Next up is an herb-crusted rack of lamb with confit turkey breast. It will be served with potatoes au gratin, broccoli puree, cranberry chutney and a veal jus. The feast will end with a dessert of chocolate mousse served with a bourbon caramel sauce, graham cracker crumble, whipped topping and black cherries. Come sing your heart out during karaoke every Tuesday and Wednesday night or leave the singing to the pros on Thursdays for Ladies Night and on Fridays and Saturdays. Let the good times roll with Fat City tonight and Saturday, Nov. 11, and Nov. 17-18. Gonzalo takes the stage on Nov. 24-25. Celebrate Ladies Night with Blu Sol on Thursday, Nov. 16, and with Str8t Shot on Nov. 30.
