Girl Scouts don’t panhandle
THE ALBUQUERQUE Journal front page article on Nov. 7 about “City approves new panhandling ordinance” stated that pedestrian safety ordinance would include engagement efforts to raise money from motorists, naming a Brownie trying to sell cookies as an example, along with others.
Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails would like to inform the public that we provide detailed training to our members on cookie sales including what type of engagement is allowed and what is not. Approaching motor vehicles is not allowed! Door-to-door sales and booth sales are allowed, overseen by adults with booth locations approved by council.
