Casino hosts breast cancer screening

SANTA ANA — Women can receive a breast cancer screening during a mobile mammography event at Santa Ana Star Casino on Monday.

The casino is teaming up to host the event with Assured Imaging, which will have its mobile mammography unit at the casino from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Women who would like to receive a screening at the event should call (888) 233-6121 to schedule an appointment. Walkups are permitted, but priority is given to women with appointments, according to a news release.

Women with insurance can receive breast cancer screenings at little or no cost at this event. All major insurance is accepted.

Women who are uninsured or underinsured can be screened for a $150 fee. Cash, debit and credit are accepted.

Uninsured or underinsured women can also contact the state Department of Health’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program at (877) 852-2585 to find a screening clinic or medical provider who can qualify them for a nocost breast cancer screening.

“Early detection is by far our greatest weapon against breast cancer, so Santa Ana Star Casino is proud to support the women of our community by providing an easy, convenient opportunity for them to get their yearly mammograms,” Santa Ana Star Casino Director of Marketing Tammy Neil said.

Santa Ana Star Casino is located off U.S. 550 at Jemez Dam Road.
