Eloise DeGeer, of Albuquerqu­e, NM, died peacefully November 13, 2017. She was 96.

Born Eloise McCloskey on October 21, 1921, in Indianapol­is, IN, she was one of six children of Cully Donald and Eunice Stephen McCloskey.

In 1942 she married Stanley DeGeer of Colorado Springs, CO. She and Stanley moved to Los Alamos, NM, in 1954, where they raised their family. Eloise worked in the Los Alamos school system, was Deputy County Clerk, and was secretary to two Los Alamos doctors. She and Stanley managed an active seniors retirement facility in Colorado Springs for several years, then returned to New Mexico.

After moving to Albuquerqu­e, she was a frequent volunteer at the Vineyard 55 + Community, where she lived for over 20 years. She also co-published several books and booklets with her husband.

Eloise is survived by five children and their spouses, Ann and Michael Weldon of Grand Prairie, TX, Donald and Gail DeGeer of Overland Park, KS, David and Carol DeGeer, Janis and Burt Goldstein of Albuquerqu­e, NM, and Cynthia and Donald Doyle of Bakersfiel­d, CA, and several grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children.
