HOROSCOPES

- BY HOLIDAY

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 26): Excitement mounts over the next five weeks as you sense you’re getting close to something you’ve pursued for ages. The first part of 2018 shows you holding up the trophy and then nearly immediately setting your sights on the next goal. March is a financial high. May brings distant family together to celebrate. Virgo and Sagittarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 40, 32, 27 and 18.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): You’re not always a social butterfly, but you’ll certainly make the rounds today and benefit greatly from the effort. Before the sun goes down, you’ll have touched base with a good number of people.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): You’re happiest when you’re helping people. Positive words, encouraging feedback and general appreciation will boost spirits and make people want to be at their best around you.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21): Interesting things will get dug up today. A heavy emotion with roots in childhood will be in there, too. That one will take more courage to deal with than you expect. Pat yourself on the back tonight.

CANCER (June 22-July 22): You’re not too concerned about the long term right now, because there’s an urgency to unburden your heart that takes precedence. Do what you need to do for love, and let the chips fall where they may.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22):

In an emotionally healthy mindset, you like the ones who like you and you prize those who treat you well, and when a person doesn’t treat you well, that person’s value diminishes in your eyes.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Your intellectual powers are even more augmented than usual, so the question becomes: What problem can you solve today with that highly analytical brain of yours?

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23): The middle child of the zodiac, you have a tendency to be rather selfless. Be careful not to be so focused on helping and highlighting others that you forget to serve your own needs and nurture your own talents.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21): Don’t expect people to leave their egos at the door; it’s just not going to happen today. The best they can do is offer their ego up to your mercy and hope you will be gentle in the handling.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): You know the appropriate thing to say, but you don’t always choose it. You’ll be admired for this (in contrast with the pity and annoyance garnered by those who don’t seem to know or care about the social rules).

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): The secret to turning up your charisma is this: Think in terms of fun moments. Do this and you’ll stop worrying about how you’re being perceived or what the other person can do for you. The future will take care of itself.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): You’re curious about your environment and about people and what stories they may be keeping behind the facade of normalcy. Your curiosity will set the stage for a magical encounter.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): A proverb says, “I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.” Some may need to see a scenario of poorer fortunes to feel grateful, but not you. Gratitude is your entire attitude.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: There are 35 days remaining in the year. Thoughts? Feelings? Goals? With the Sagittarian sun shining on the mission, it’s likely you have loads of all three — and with Mercury and Saturn also in the fiery sign of adventure and expansion, many have the ambition to match the task. In short, this is the home stretch, and a boost of energy is there for the taking, with a few exceptions.

Tuesday brings an alignment of Mercury and Saturn. It may feel as if life is slapping down your grabbing hand. The good news is that this reprimand will be brief and informative. Think of it as either a test of wills or a course correction. In no way is this to be considered a real obstacle. Quickly take in the message, and then react accordingly. Don’t dwell on it, discuss it, agonize over it or blow it out of proportion. It’s a road sign, not a book.

On Friday, Venus will wave goodbye to the intensity of Scorpio. To love is to be brave. Loving, even in secret, takes courage. It requires us to open our hearts, making them vulnerable to all kinds of possible thrill, disappointment, rejection and exhilaration. Venus in Sagittarius will be a cosmic ticket to ride.
