Clare Dreyer
Clare Dreyer, age 102, died peacefully in her sleep on December 3, 2017.
Clare was born in Albuquerque on December 4, 1914 to Lilian and Harry B. Weiller. Clare attended Miss Willie’s, Washington Jr. High, Albuquerque High, and Washington University in St. Louis. She returned to Albuquerque in the mid-1930s where she met her future husband, Rudolf Dreyer. Clare and Rudolf had two daughters, Joan and Nancy.
Clare lived a good life, spreading good cheer everywhere she went and bringing joy to all who knew her. Often referred to as a "smiley" and happy lady, Clare had an uncanny way of cultivating friendships with people of all ages and maintaining those friendships throughout her lifetime, including the children and grandchildren of her friends and her caregivers. Friends, family, and visitors were always greeted with a warm smile that lit up the room and always an offer to share in chocolates, snacks, and a beverage. To say that "Mimi" (as her family called her) will be greatly missed is an understatement.
Clare was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolf; and her daughter, Joan Allen.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Blaugrund; son-inlaw, Cliff; grandchildren, Doug Allen (Debbie), Steve Allen (Cassie), Scott Allen (Julie), Leslie Kim (Dave), Jeffrey Blaugrund (Sarah); and 12 greatgrandchildren.
Memorial Services for Clare will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Blvd. NE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Mexico Philharmonic or to a charity of your choice.
