Elton L. "Bud" Flanders
Elton L. "Bud" Flanders, 86, of
Rio Rancho and Gallup, died Monday, December
11, 2017 in an Albuquerque hospital. He was born
July 4, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio and was a retired electronics technician for several national laboratories. Bud was a member of the Rio Rancho Stamp Club and the Albuquerque Stamp Club. He was a Lutheran and attended Peace Lutheran Church in Rio Rancho.
Bud is survived by his wife, Roxy Mills Flanders of Rio Rancho; a daughter, Ellen Freelander, Albuquerque; 3 grandchildren, Nancy Rosson, Rio Rancho, Silas Dowdican, Albuquerque, and Kara; a sister, Lea Embree and her husband, Alan, Sandy Hook, CT; nephew, Darren Embree, Warrenton, VA; niece, Michelle Embree-Ku, Newtown, CT; mother-in-law, Carlene "Polly" Mills, Grants; sister-inlaw, Becky Poppell, Perry, FL; and other extended family on the Mills side.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Director’s Choice Mortuary Service chapel, 9316 Susan Avenue SE, Albuquerque with Elder Adam Wilkey officiating. Interment will follow in Bluewater Village Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Conboy, Quinten Wengert, Aaron Ornales, Richard Mills, Gary Mills, Mike Mills and Leonard Justice.
